Hi Andrea,

this is Jan from the Happy Campers Gluten Free Baking. I just discovered your website, what a wealth of amazing health-food information, thank you for sharing! This recipe sounds absolutely delicious, I wrote it down and plan to start our weekend with it:) Thank you for choosing our bread, we feel honored. Hope to get a chance to chat with you in person one day (we're at the Hollywood Farmers Market on Saturdays or maybe we'll run into you at one of our demos).

I am only commenting to make you know what a extraordinary encounter my friend's child had going through the blog. She discovered a lot of issues, not to mention what it is like to possess an incredible teaching character to make a number of people without hassle fully grasp a variety of impossible subject matter. You really exceeded my expected results. Thanks for imparting such warm and helpful, trustworthy, edifying not to mention fun tips about that topic to Jane.

[...] Note: most of the people who do not like coriander react to the smell of grass, not flavor. If you don’t like cilantro, but want to experience its blessings, hold your nose while you take in your blender and give it a whirl. See Cilantro | ReplenishPDX. [...]

So glad you're enjoying the pesto! I'm also a caffeine-sipper, in my matcha green tea every morning. Love the stuff. I think I'll be cleansing over here while you cleanse over there. . . been feeling that need lately. :)

I am a huge fan of the CORE Defender and have been since last August when I was able to buy a couple boxes for my freezer. I have a busy job in an Elementary School and have many after school meetings and activities. I keep a box of Defenders in my classroom refrigerator so I can grab a Cashew Cocoa or Almond Raisin CORE Meal on the run. They are a total life saver for my health. Other bars leave me hungry and many of them are highly sweetened or upset my stomach. CORE Defenders are easy to digest, taste great, give me energy and take care of my hunger with healthy ingredients. They are super for taking sailing, skiing, hiking, scuba diving, etc. Last week I shared my Almond Raisin with an eager toddler while we were running errands so we could make it to dinner. I have a monthly order that I store in my freezer and/ or refrigerator and always carry one in my pocket so I know I have something healthy to keep me going.

This is so beautifully written, Andrea--thanks for sharing your story!

I can relate to so much of what you write here. While I never had cancer or Lyme (thankfully), I did suffer constant symptoms that made it very difficult to live my "regular" life. I agree that we are all very attached to our familiar foods and diets. . . and it does, so often, take something earth-shattering to change that. For me, a change in diet worked so well that I thought I could revert back to old habits. . . and then problems came back with a vengeance. I'm back on track again, but recovery took much longer the second time around. Happily, I have embraced my role as "one of those people" who asks a million questions in restaurants--and I always bring a little something of my own to eat when I'm invited to friends' houses. It may be a little less convenient, but boy is it worth it to feel well instead of ill all the time.

Andrea, thank you so much for sharing your tender, inspirational story.

A meditation:
Breathing in heartbreak, pain, suffering of self and others, despair;
Breathing out healing, compassion, hope, peace, health.

I have just journeyed through the loss of a pregnancy. Walking through the journey my light was the care of others, and opening myself up to be cared for by my partner, midwife, naturopaths, friends. My gift of this miscarriage was the visit of the spirit of the Egyptian goddess of love, joy, and beauty, and usher to the other world/midwife of death, Hathor. An inspirational goddess that showed me the value of receptivity, her message: "Allow yourself to receive. This will increase your intuition, energy, and ability to give to others."

I relate this to your inspiration of your story in receiving care from my naturopathic doctors, who have suggested I adopt a gluten-free diet to support fertility to become pregnant again. This along with some basic dietary care and focus have seemed daunting and at times impossible. Your words and inspiration have touched me greatly right where I needed it.

Thank you again.

Blessings,
Jennifer
